I generally can't stand any recording featuring a jazz intrumentalist with strings; however, this is a rarety. I like it very much for the subtle shadings the strings bring out, making for a very "reflective" type of recording. A perfect recording for a rainy day...not to cheer you up, but to get you into the meloncholy, thinking about life kind of a mood.
