Jack White: Lazaretto Flac CD rip, sounds slightly better than the digital copy but still wondering on the vinyl. Supposedly all 3 have different mastering with the vinyl even having different instruments on the intros..
This double album-The Ocean-Pelagial (2013) is one of those albums that might appeal to people who don't consider themselves metal listeners perse in the way Opeth and Tool do. It is a concept album about the levels or stages of the ocean used as a metaphor for life.
Pelagial topped many a top ten metal list in 2013. This is a well recorded album. It sounds great IMO-audiophile friendly. There are a multitude of styles including post rock. And, it was written originally without vocals. The vocalist was brought in after the tracks were completed-that's my understanding.
As such the band made an interesting move and released a double CD one w/ "extreme" vocals and one instrumental. The instrumental really holds up and in some ways I prefer the instrumental version.
Amazon Editorial says-2013 release, the sixth studio album from the Berlin-based Post Metal band. It is a concept album based on the layers of the ocean, starting at the surface with a light sound ("Epipelagic") and ending with a Doom Metal style ("Benthic").
