Yepa , likewise I too use our thread for inspiration for new/old intrest(s) and remberances ...
 
Some of these of course are quite litterally sign posts of my life ...
 
But yeah, Johns brutally simplistic poetry (imagery) powerfully delivered is art to be cherished,
 remarkably very cleanly recorded and transposed...

All I can say is wow. This is just about as perfect of a blues acoustic recording as one could hope for.
The cd liner notes are indispensable. Forget the folk angle. That was just Chess trying to cash in on the 60's folk popularity.
For me, this is the dream team of Muddy, the infamous Willie Dixon on upright, and new comer Buddy Guy playing the most tasteful accompaniment on guitar I can think of. The simplicity is pure genius. Take a look at this pic from the session: Three legends in a tiny recording space, within about a foot or two from each other being apparently recorded by a single mic.
