A new pianist (for me) with jazz trios, all three albums include one of my
favorite drummers: Herlin Riley. Mr. Jamal's playing is interesting ... his
use of time has been compared to the technique of Thelonious Monk.
Nicely snarky and complex. HD800 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> :)

Porcupine Tree is playing in San Francisco tonight, 4 blocks up the hill from where I live! But I'm still not going to gigs this year....

If it was 4 block from my house, I'd find a way be there. I don't like crowds or dealing with parking or blah blah blah, but I'd be there. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

What a wonderful album. If you're not familiar with Sturgill Simpson... Get familiar! This isn't a new album but it's just solid country all the way around. His new bluegrass albums are really something else if you like that kind of sound. I gotta say he's the best thing going on in country music now, too bad he's talked of retiring at times though.

Listening to some Luke Temple, Emile Mosseri and Chrome Sparks. Got to see them all live last night in LA. Emile puts a show on once a month at the Zebulon with really cool artists for anyone that lives in the area. Was really fun to see some live music again for the first time since Covid. Chrome Sparks did some crazy synth magic that rumbled the place down with bass vibrations.
