Back in 2005 I had the honour of meeting Oscar Petersen very briefly, just shook his hand and told him I was honoured to meet him. He was very gracious and looking me in the eye simply said thank you. He was in a wheelchair and his young daughter was with him. I met him while working at the National Library of Canada (I retired in 2012). The Library and Archives had put on an exhibition of Petersen's personal archives material which had been donated to the Library and Archives. I wasn't supposed to do what I did because he was with the gov't and management big whigs but I approached him anyways figuring this was a one time opportunity. I'm glad I did. He passed away a couple of years later. A very very nice & humble man.
