?! cant agree with the 650 or K1000 statement, not even close (Just by listening to the HE60 I can get a sense on how good the HE90s must be), but the $14000 part i can go with.

The worst that I've owned regardless of money spent was the Creative Labs Zen Aurvana. These things have absolutely no high frequencies at all. high frequecies that you can even hear though muffled on the lowly Koss Plug are completely & totally obliterated by the Aurvana's. Sound is only ok up to 6KHz. Beyond that it's nonexistant. By the way these cost me 100 dollars to find out.

Most grados.
HD590
HD280pro

I Personally think grado's are quite lousey headphones for the price. Extreamly terrible comfort, so much so that I can't keep a stock pair on for more than a half hour without wanting to tear them off. Add to that their fatiguing highs and mids, total lack of soundstage, and extreamly high price (Even in the US, let's not get me started on international prices) and you have a headphone that I Personally don't find much value in. I can see why other's like it though. Just not a good value for me.

The Sennheiser HD590 weren't a good deal for the money when they reatiled for 200$us. Comfortable and non fatiguing sound, but nothing special to warrent the 200$ cost which saldy I paid before joining Head-Fi.

HD280pro. Dual personality. At times I think these are nice, at other's I hate them with a vengence. Comfort sucks, and with most music it's just so lifeless and anemic. Plus the headband cracked in several places under very light use (after warrenty expired). Not worth the MSRP of 200$... not even worth the retail of 80$ I say.

Sorry if I hurt someone's feelings...... this just according to me.

Personally I would say any AT in the closed line above the a900. I have an extremely hard time hearing much of a difference with these guys. Basically you are paying for nuance and pretty wood.(or leather covered wood)

If we are talking about comfort, then for sure, the ps-1 is the WORST headphone for the MONEY of all time. I didn't buy them for comfort obviously, but you think for 1400 bucks they could figure out a decent headband design or maybe use a lighter metal. I have been wearing them for about 20 minutes now and I already developing a bit of a pressure headache.

HD-500 "Fusion". BTW, I heard the Orpheus sytem at the '99 Stereophile show in Chicago and was completely blown away. I owned Jecklin Floats at the time and there was no comparison. I think they represent good value, as does a Maclaren F1 at $1,000,000 (both NLA, alas). The fact that I can't aford either doesn't negate their value.

AKG K1000

Arguably the best headphones around but the quality/price ratio is very low, as is it always is with extremely high end products (as well as very low end).

Someday I'm going to get myself to a National or International meet and see if I can get a taste of the Orpheus. Then I can legitimately say that I would never spend $14,000 on them

Sony Canada sells the SA3000 for $599.99 + 14% tax. To me, that's a very bad deal considering you can get the same phone in the States for 1/4 the price.
