What are the WORST headphones for the money?

UE super.fi 5 Pro.

The iBuds were more balanced and more fun to listen to than these. The KSC75 beat the living hell out of them, and the killer was went drums came up...oh man, it was like slapping a bloated, dead dog. Seriously.

But thanks to it, I know now what to avoid in general in the audio world. AKG and Ety for my analyzing tastes! Oh, and a Grado in the future for those crazed air guitar moments. The blasted K701s wont stay on my head for beans.

My old Sony EX71s, before they had driver failure. Stock earbuds have more balance! I don't care if someone thinks its a great budget option - a phone that makes bass the overwhelming sound in a song that doesn't even have it should only go in one place - and that's not in your ears

:O I see lots of comparisons between headphones like the portapros and ksc75s against other pairs of headphones that the poster feels is the worst for the money. IMO this isn't fair because the ksc75, for example, is hardly normal for the price range. Just because its the best for the price doesn't mean it's the norm.

Bose Triports. The only headphone I've listened to and truly hated.

I've listened to no-names from the dollar store (great "dummy load" for testing DIY amps, by the way) that had a redeeming quality or two. The Triports don't even have that.

I was going to Vote Orpheus too.

It probably is the worst value for money. Kind of like a Rolex.
It's more a status statement than anything else.

Another vote for the MDR-EX71's. I cannot fathom why these things are so popular - anyone want to buy mine?

Retail price is 100 bucks, and it sounds like it's worth 15 USD. Even Triports might have better bang for the buck than these cans.

That's so funny because the full HD-25 sounds amazing.

The contact pressure makes so much difference in the way that headphone sounds. It's the same driver in each headphone, only the headband is different.

Sorry for the double-post, Mods, maybe an emphatic way to say the EX71's are pure crap.

Any offers?

Really? I loved them, thought they defeated the much-loved K81. Add the -1 headband and a copper cable, and you're golden!

NOTE : The preceeding applies only to the 25-BA, as I have never actually owned the SP for any length of time.

Yuin PK1, amazed though I was with how good an earbud can sound. I just can't bring myself to think that $130USD is justifiable for an EARBUD - one that requires amplification, no less!

I'd say HD650 because you have to buy $1,000+ of other dedicated, HD650-synergized equipment simultaneously (which won't get along with any other equipment you might own, BTW) to get ANYTHING but super-veiled sound out of these. The pricetag on them should be $1,300+ -- that's what the true cost to own them is.
