Don't forget the great US manufacturers like Klipsch, McIntosh, Conrad-Johnson, Atma-Sphere, Magnepan, Pass Labs, Vandersteen, Grado, DIY projects from Linkwitz Lab, and vintage gear from H.H. Scott, Dynaco, Marantz, and Stromberg-Carlson. I've probably forgotten a few, as well.

Personally, I lean towards the UK and US for audio gear. Just as I do for clothing, shoes and cars.

I have Chario Pegasus speakers. Italian manufacturer. Very good sound and very natural. Best for Jazz and Classic music.
 
I highly recommend them.
