I have the Sennheiser HD800's at the moment, but am told there are headphones that are better for bass out there.
 
Which are among the best in the price range of $1000-$2000?

i dont think youll do better than some thunderpants for the type of music you listen to... and the price maxes around $750

X2 for the Thunderpants. The the thunderpants will hit just as deep as the LCD-2 but will have more impact.
