In case the manual is omitted it there's an easy way to tell. Unplug the headphone then peer into the 3.5mm output socket. If there's an intense (when on-axis) laser coming out of it, ie, not just the glow from the LED indicator lights in there, that's a combo jack.
My understanding is that the intense light should be red. I suspect the violet light is from the boxes' LEDs. mini-TOSlink cable. Went and educated myself about what you were referring to ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TOSLINK ) . Anyway, I appreciate you reminding me about that 3.5" jack that has TWO functions. Thanks, eh.

Look at it in the dark. If the light is streaming out like an LED flashlight (ie it's in the socket assembly pointing outward, not incidental lighting from other LEDs inside the case), that might actually be toslink, even with the blue color.
You could shoot Turtle Beach an email and ask to make sure.
