What amp did you start out with? & what do you have now?

My first setup was some kind of cheap Sears integrated stereo system with a turntable/ amp and speakers all in one .... plus a headphone jack for some awful sounding Koss Pro 4AA.

My first actual dedicated headphone amp was an Audio Alchemy HPAv1.0 I bought sometime around 1994-1995.

I have to add some input. I forgot my actual first headphone amp was with a Stax SR-5 I purchased in 1976 or 1977. The Audio Alchemy would be my first dedicated dynamic headphone.

What do I have now .... tubes, tubes and more tubes

Started out in '05 with a PPA2V2/Go-Vibe V2, got a Maxxed out Pint two years later with a Hornet and a Go-Vibe V7 soon to follow. Final pick-up was an RSA XP-7, well, so far anyway. Still have 'em all for some reason, too lazy to sell I guess.

first dedicated HP amp i ever owned for myself was the gilmore lite, that was about 2 years ago. about a year and a half ago I got pretty into DIY, built my first Cmoys, got hooked on the solder fumes, and now here i am sitting building my second balanced beta22....

First amp for headphones was by Xin, his first in the series of the Super Macro and shortly after that the RSA SR71. Now look at me.
