This thread is insane. I completely forgot about it for over a year, then found it again in a search.

I'm currently using an M3 with AD8610 chips, but I'm really not satisfied with it. Going to look for some new chips and see what happens.

Well getting back to the DIY Amps that were requested.

I have not seen many CK^2III but so far with the HD650's I am blown away.

My suggestion and I will take my own advice is to build a M3 PPAV and a CK^2III and choose for yourself.

I would then sell the ones that doesnt suit you.

I use a GS-1. It suites my DAC and HD650 just nicely.

I am using TTVJ millet hybrid Amp, panorama cable pro and zu mobius cable. Happy when listening jazz song but needs more power for R&B or bassy song. Sounds weak for aggresive music.

I have two HD650s, and have them hooked up more or less permanently on my EAR HP-4 and the PRX-100 (later will be RP010BMKII).

With the EAR-HP4, the HD650 (recabled with RAL Paradise Cryo Silver) sounds like magic.

With the RPX-100, the HD650 produces a very natural and detailed sound, with stunning dynamics and articulated balance.

How big is the bank? Price range would be useful.

My amp (second hand balanced beta22)/cable & phones (new, HD650 and Headroom stock balanced cable) combined ran a little under $1600. The balanced source will add another $500 easily ($1300 for a DAC1 in my case.)

Cheers,
Chris
