I'm seriously thinking of buying the Fiio E10 thanks to the good reviews that the little unit got. I intend to use this with my desktop and my laptop. I still can't make up my mind on a headphone, but I'm seriously thinking of upgrading my IEM. I'm currently using the Westone UM1 and it's time for an upgrade. I'm definitely leaning on Westone because of my good experience with them. I'm considering either the Westone UM3X RC (Removable Cable) or the Westone 4R (Removable Cable). Will either the Westone IEMs sound good with the Fiio E10? Or at least better than if it was used without any DACs like the Fiio E10 or a Fiio E17?

A bad analogy (that will get my point across):  It's like you've selected Chevron gas and want to know what car you shoould buy to go with it.
 
IMHO, you should start with the headphone upgrade first (you may even find there's no need for the amp).
