Hey there guys.

I currently have a Sennheiser IE8 and want something that can complement this headphone out of the two mentioned in the title - in other words - I don't really want something that sounds the very close to or the same as the IE8. I also have and love the RE0 if that means anything.

Um3x. Westone 3 sounds similar to ie8. Alternatively, you can use the ie8 with the nuforce icon mini to achieve a similar sound to um3x.

Not heard the Westone 3 myself but I own and use both the UM3x and IE8. I like both but prefer the UM3x.
 
The IE8 has a more airy sound and a lot more bass but the mids are a bit recessed and slightly veiled in comparison. I prefer them for laid back listening.
 
The UM3x has much more forward and detailed mids, tight and punchy bass but sounds more closed in (though it has fantastic instrument separation).
 
If you want something quality, but completely different to the the IE8, the UM3x would be a good bet.

As stated above..I think the Westone 3 is very similar to Ie8 on the grand scheme of things. The um3x would give you another sound altogether with the nice instument seperation, strong mids and very nice bass as well.
