I have a Melco switch and it made a significant difference. That said, I was talking more about an Innuos Zenith rather than an Innuos clock or switch.

The guy I sold my Headtrip said it was making noise. Which basically means his router was too close. So being nice guy I took it back. Well I'm happy it's back listened to a few songs which was an eye opener.

Was that the reason you decided to sell the Ha200 after all?

Yes but now I’m accused by the institution of trying to rip people off on headfi.

what do you mean by “the clears?”

The Headtrip II is an amazing amp. Jeff's approach of: 1) make it simple, 2) use high quality components, and 3) build it buy hand pays huge dividends in sound quality. The tradeoff is that one does need to be sure that they don't have super noisy electronics nearby, but that just seems like smart practice anyway.

Also, I have the same question as @Ciggavelli, @Bonddam what do you mean by "the clears"?

The clears I don’t know I’m just goofing around. Though the HeadTrip is only ss that I know of that does holographic like a tube amp. I don’t see it necessary to get the lvl 2, because the lvl 1 sounds so damn good.

Level 2 brings even more clarity and improved timbre. I just want to hear the Cipher!

Cipher has caps the sizes of Big Macs. Never seen caps so big. The Cipher does not sound like it’s delta sigma dac. The sound characteristics are its own. If the lvl 2 has more clarity I couldn’t imagine it.

Well that's something we all experienced from time to time during our career.

At some point you can't even imagine improvement until you hear it.

I had original Headtrip for a year and then I upgraded to the reference. For me, the reference (level2) brings in more emotion.

I also have the Viva Solista 845 and upon comparing I realised how the Headtrip is the most ‘tubey’ amp I have experienced without the ‘hassles’ of a tube amp.

Fast, musical and emotional.

Can anyone tell me what the different versions of the headtrip are?

I'm a bit confused. I hear about headtrip, headtrip level II, Headtrip II, Headtrip II level II, Headtrip reference.

Whats the actual history of headtrips now?

Current models-
Headtrip 2 and Headtrip 2 level 2

Old models- Headtrip and Headtrip Reference

Difference between current and old-

1) new chasis
2) the current has 4 pin xlr output instead of 2X 3 pin xlr.

Internal Components inside are the same.

price for the 2 variants remains the same at 7K and 15K
