Weird random noises from my PC.

Hy guys,
recently (half a year ago) my computer started to make really weird noises- explosion like noises with a bit of an echo, I don't know if those noises happen because of me playing Guild Wars 2 (i tried to mute GW2 audio's but i still heard the noises), I don't know because most of my day i play it
I tried couple of different headphones and all had that problem. i might be getting my Audio Technica ATH-A700X tomorrow so i really want my pc to sound the best  .
I don't have a sound card (only my on-board one) my motherboard is: MSI P35 Platinum.
 
Moreover, i wanna burn-in my new headphones, can you please guide it through it ?

Is the sound still present with the volume set to zero, or does it get louder as you turn the volume louder?
 
As far as burn-in, don't worry about it. Most believe it's just a mental thing. Your brain burning in to the sound signature of your headphones is the most significant thing, and that is achieved by normal listening.

Thanks for the fast reply, anyway, I have no idea, those noises are random so i can't really check it... but as far as i know, it sounds the same in any volume..

Well if you can manage to turn your windows volume(not just guild wars or other application's volume) down all the way next time you hear it that would determine that it is some sort of electrical interference. Probably caused by the cpu or gpu, and getting a soundcard would most likely fix it(although if it's unshielded and in a tight spot it might introduce a different kind of interference). I think it's generally a good idea to get at least a cheap soundcard anyways if you're a gamer just for dolby headphone/cmss3d, plus there's usually a little extra amplification.
 
But if it scales with window's volume then it could possibly be some application causing it, and getting new hardware wouldn't fix it.  
 
I've never heard of an interference that sounded like echoing explosions though. It's also strange that it's completely random... are you sure it doesn't happen when more graphic intensive things are happening on-screen?

I can't turn off only windows' volume, i have windows XP, no 7
can you please recommend a good audio card? (cheap one).
oh, and it's not really explosions, more like the sound of an item that falls and has some echo

By window's volume I mean just the volume of everything. Just put your computer's volume on mute. I'm pretty sure XP has that feature 

 
For sound cards, there is the Xonar DG and the Creative Audigy Soundblaster SE for under $30 each. They're both PCI though. Really depends on what features you want(Dolby headphone vs. CMSS-3D, different outputs etc...)
 
That still sounds like a really weird sound to be coming from interference though. It could very likely have nothing to do with hardware and instead some application causing the issue(for example sounds from an advertisement on a webpage you have minimized)

try grabbing a crappy cheap nasty usb DAC (I'm talking £2/$3) from Amazon (or borrow from a friend) and plug into that - if the noises still happen then it's probably surges on your mobo or interference from something else on there, I had a weird pulsing which turned out to be the HDD I had dangling over the onboard controller  
I did that, the DAC is nasty and cheap but for some reason I quite like the sound, Still using it!
I had a similar board to yours, for the record.
