Awesome!  Do you have any idea how long it'd take for him to get them once this goes through?  Of course it'd probably take him quite awhile to review it, I'd like for him to take his time.

Actually...where can you even buy these right now anyway?

Also, I probably should have said this first, but a big thank you to Joker for his thread!!

Aw, it's a shame there is no voting here on which IEM to buy, like last time when there was a vote which decided on the UM Miracle?

There's lots of IEM's/CIEM's out there.

But to my knowledge this is probably the only other $1000+ universal IEM he hasn't reviewed yet (the other being the FA-BA-SS), so that makes it unique!  There are just way too many CIEMs for him to review...getting a pair of those isn't quite as simple as getting a universal.

I'm pretty sure he's reviewed the Final Bass and it costs less than $1000+, last time I checked $999 at acessoryjack hehe. ;]

There is the new "FitEar TO GO! MH334" which is above $1000 IIRC, and there are universal alternatives to these CIEM's http://www.head-fi.org/t/577039/every-top-end-product-of-every-headphone-and-iem-brand-currently-in-existence-forever-current-list

So, I'd say there's still a few universals above $1000, in that perspective.

Edit:  I know the K3003 is a suitable model and thank you to ljokerl, just offering some alternative input. =]

Attention Head-Fi!

I know that most, if not all of you reading this, have used Joker as a reference, sounding board and portable guru to ask our many IEM/headphone questions, on the quest for our own personal holy grail.  Mike, or Joker to the masses, has spent countless hours and dollars to create one of the finest pieces of work I have ever seen in the audio world.  His multi-review threads serve as a baseline and reference for members and lurkers alike.  In case you’ve been hiding under a rock here are links to his massive threads:

Multi IEM Review: http://www.head-fi.org/t/478568/multi-iem-review-223-iems-compared-dunu-dn-17-crater-dn-18-hawkeye-added-02-22-12

So some of the regulars around here decided it was time to do something nice for Mike, again!  In order to express our gratitude, for his continued and unending work on these threads, we’ve decided to raise money in order to get him the new hybrid AKG K3003 universal.  For those of you unfamiliar with this universal, it goes for approximately $1,300.  I’m going to be organizing the collection of the money and purchasing the K3003 for Mike.  Here is a link to the K3003:

For your reference, we’ve done this before and raised money to purchase him a Unique Melody Miracle custom a little over a year ago.  Here are the threads related to that effort:

I'll donate my K3003i's after the review tour is finished.  I may be able to sweet talk AKG into exchanging them for a new set for him.

True enough universals are much easier to purchase than ciem's. If this ends up being a vote and/or a ciem I would love to see Joker review the Heir Audio 8a's.

Where do we stand now Shotgun donation wise?

I have a new update for the first post.  Please see below:

**UPDATE** Due to a couple new developments, Mike is going to get plenty of time with an AKG K3003 in the near future, so in replacement of the AKG, we are looking to get him the soon to be released FitEar To Go MH334 universal.

The FitEar To Go MH334 is a universal version of the FitEar flagship custom.  It has been completely redesigned from the ground up to become a universal fit IEM with some interesting new, never done before features.  The MSRP is approximately the same as the AKG's.  There are a couple of new threads with very preliminary information and can be found here:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/597146/fitear-to-go-mh334-suyamas-flagship-custom-made-universal

As you can see from my previous post to this one, we are nearly half way to the stated goal in only a couple of days of donations!
