Well I finally managed to get some pics ^ ^ I would also add that the base response knob does have an effect on the base.
Also while using my cowon, these phones have a tighter base than my Seinheisser 880 OCXs, which seems to be a bit muddy on the same settings.

Hi guys,

I apologize for having to ask but I'm not sure if my IE 8's are real. I bought them knowing they might not be real. They were from ebay of course, the person who had them took them in a trade for something. They don't normally sell headphones so I figured I'd take a chance.

As for the sound, they're not bad. I have a pair of X10's and SHE3575's, and they sound kind of in the middle of the two. The bass dial doesn't seem to do much at all, but I'm pretty bad at A/B'ing headphones.

I have to figure out if they're real or not by tomorrow or else I have to send them back. Can you guys take a look at the attached pictures and let me know your thoughts?

Unfortunately - these look like copies - I am about 99% sure here..... The foam is your first red flag.

Yes, there is a metallic plate on the bottom, but part of the bottom case is missing.

As for the foam, is it supposed to be really dense? The foam in my case is really dense.

The foam on fakes is cut poorly - this is how it looks on the real thing.....

The magnet in the case (not the drawer) is a metallic plate that's only in the lower half of the case. Does the drawer 'click' closed when you slide it in? It should if it's real.

Doesn't appear to have a click on the bottom, but then again it's missing part of the bottom half.

Thanks for help everyone, I figured when they didn't blow me away that they were fake. They actually sound pretty good though, very surprised.

Hey guys!

There are couple of luring offer on ebay for ie8 and 80s. They are priced between 30-100 dollars, actually these offers are open for bidding. All of them are from China. What do you know about these, prices will go high in the end of the bidding, or they are stolen, or these are in general poor replicas?
