Sorry for the massive link, but that's what I got.

Someone warned me away from them, can't remember who (vapman?), but was advised to wait for CKLewis.

I doubt anywhere has 900+ walnuts in stock.

My own guess has always been that a lot of sellers carry little to no stock other than the most popular items, and they source it from their suppliers when you place an order. This would explain the delay between purchase and a proper dispatch with working tracking.

Then if you're lucky it's a seller who won't mark as dispatched until they have it and if there's a problem they'll let you cancel (providing you use a reason that doesn't reflect on them!)...If unlucky you may get a dummy tracking number and the hassle of sorting a refund.

This is all just theory btw and is based on experience with various sellers - I have no experience of the seller in question!! But I don't think the listed number of items in stock generally has any basis in reality.

Just installed the Alps volume pot, power cap, and the LM4562NA opamp.  Love the results.  The Bass is faster and a bit tighter over the NE5532 without loosing the spaciousness.

Curious what you used for the power cap exactly.

It was Princess Dress Store I was advising people not buy from, but that said, the walnut from them did eventaully show up before the guarenteed delivery by 60 days from purchase. So, you could order with them right now, worst case scenario you dont get a walnut and get a full refund from Aliexpress. Second worst scenario, you get your walnut 59 days from purchase like me

I love to see how many people are going all out on modding their walnuts. @Dark Helmet 's volume knob choice looks sick too. I will have to look for a cool enough knob to make mine stand out. One of my 3 walnuts has a very rough feeling volume knob whereas the other 2 travel very freely. That will be the first to get the Alps treatment

Ha ha I ordered mine from Princess Dress Store and got it faster than I expected.

I have a couple more of those knobs, but it will only fit the Alps pot, It's a push on.  If you would like one and are in the states I would send you one however there may be a mark on the top of it.  I took one of them and polished just the top and it came out cool.

That is good to know

I kind of suspected that as i was the first to order from them, they didnt actually have any yet, and had to order them. Maybe they have stock now and nobodys been getting it because I posted not to haha. So yeah, maybe they aren't that bad after all, it's possible they may not have had stock until after I ordered and didn't say so.

I will pm you about one of those knobs. Thanks for the offer!

Vapman one more thing.  The stock pot is a bear to remove.  Mine would not come out, so I took it to my employees dad, who repairs and manufacturers electronic components.  We got the pot off, but it took off a couple of the pads on top.  I'm sure it was my fault to begin with, but he made it as good as new.  Use the nut from the existing pot on the alps as it is not as wide and allows this volume knob (should you want one) to be sunk further down on the shaft go all the way down with out rubbing on the nut (insert Beavis and Butthead laughs here).

Thanks for the heads up man. How were you delsoldering it? I have a hakko 808, so hopefully it's tolerable and I don't rip any traces. If i do, i'll have to wire the knob up haha.

I was using a generic solder sucker and then tried using copper braid.  Let me know how the 808 works, I may have to get one.   When I took it to my employees dads house he used a high end solder sucker.  That didn't help, probably cause I made it worse using my methods.

Will be sure to post about it man.  I am still waiting on the pots to show up. I have some other random knobs around that fit on the shaft but are bigger than the walnut is wide, so it would be awkward sitting on a table...

Btw before I said AD797 and AD8065 would oscillate with some cap combos, turns out they work fine in my stock walnut and sound very nice, It might simply be the caps in my modded walnuts need break in to stabilize which would in turn cause the opamps to be stable.

AD8065 sounds really nice to me, like a better version of AD825, clearer treble, tighter bass, and the mids, wow, so much presence and realism without being forward and annoying. (for stock walnut).

AD797 has a much more robust bass than the previous two, hit's big and hard, a lot of body, the mids and treble in isolation are excellent, but lose to AD8065 for my electronic music just because the music already has so much bass that I prefer leaner sounding opamps, for other music genres AD797 will be excellent surely.

So AD8065 and AD8610 are my current favorites. And really liking the OS-CON capacitors as well.
