Do you know where to buy an affordable 2.5mm balanced cable? ($20 or less?)
KBEar, Nicehck, and the banned store sell good quality cables under $20 on AliExpress. Wait for sales and you can get a sweet deal for cables.

Guys, I bought the F2 from some aliexpress store (I cant really remember the name but it gave bad vibes I swear) and there's an awful, most annoying, buzz that blows my ears between songs that somehow gets louder every time I use it as a player. In amp/dac mode, this does not happen. Any ideas of what I can do to fix it?? I'm new to the hi-fi world so I'm kinda clueless...

If you have soldering skills, you might try touching up the solder in the memory card and processor sections of your F2.
Are you listening from the 3.5mm or 2.5mm output?

Hi, thx for replying. I use the 3.5mm output mainly. I'lltry to pry it open when I find some screwdriver lying around and hopefully post some pics. As for my soldering skills, guess we'll see how it goes.

To remove the circuit board:
1.) Remove the 4 screws from the front.
2.) Remove the 2 screws from the top at the back, and take the top off.
3.) Slide the circuit board out the front.

The four SOIC-8 op-amps on the back of the board are what drive the 3.5mm jack.
The two SOIC-16 Differential Line Drivers on the back of the board are what drive the 2.5mm jack.

Did anyone try Muse 8820 with Walnut F2 ?
I'm looking for something that removes the harshness and shrillnes of the stock opamp that's in the same price range as the Walnut. Any suggestions ?
Thank you very much

In my F2, I replaced all four of the JRC 4580E surface mount op-amps on the back of the board (that drive the 3.5mm TRS output), with MUSES 8920E op-amps.
I also replaced the two TI DRV134UA Differential Line Drivers on the back of the board (that drive the 2.5mm TRRS output), with AD SSM2142SZ devices.
In the DIP-8 socket, I've currently got a MUSES 02 op-amp.

Were you able to listen to MUSES 8920E just in the DIP-8, before performing, the other, more advanced tweaks ? How does it compare to stock ?

hi
i have plan to use as f2 amp
but i need to know how much max volt given to opamp?i need at least 7.5 volt to use my discrete opamp.
and replacing only one opamp will be enough for 3.5 output or shouldni change four opamps?

Somehow I missed your question from last month.
I don't think I had any MUSES 8920E op-amps mounted on DIP-8 headers, before I swapped the surface mount set onto the back of the board.

No worries. I just wanted to understand the sound improvement of just swapping the original opamp with MUSES 8920E. I can't go for any advanced mods since my soldering skills are very close to 0.

Both my original Walnut and V2S are now flakey and dying in some way or another, I'd like to rebuy. Anyone know where a good place to buy replacement models exists? Is there anything better than the OG and V2S (in Jazz setting) these days or are they still well recommended?

Cheers,

BB
