Question I am trying to shuffle my files I have sorted them out into folders but I want to be able to shuffle the folders so I don't have to listen to the same order all the time.  what is the easiest way to do this.  I am running on a Mac.

As someone new to this Walnut thing, how does one go about purchasing opamps easily? Do I literally just try eBay or something?

For us Aussies RS Online is the best outlet, free express shipping, and legitimate parts. There so many other good choices besides NJM5532 though, which are $1 each in packs of 5:

Find my post here, it might be helpful. Unfortunately I have no idea if it will work on Macs :frowning2:

That's the cool part about this player.  Lots of op amps to tailor to your personal sound signature.  I still have a few op amps on the way to try.

Just installed a JRC5532 in my Walnut.  So much better sounding than the TI5532.  Better texture, soundstage, depth, and speed.

I concur about all non ti branded 5532's i have tried to date. JRC4556 i can also easily recommend to fans of the low end and powerful sound. I have tried some vintage 5532 that were very delicate and $  but i find the 4556 to be at least as good and actually near identical...

Hi all! I have been reading the thread, and it got me quite interested in this small gem! I currently have a DX90, will the Walnut work better as a standalone DAP, or could it function well to pair with the DX90 as well?

You could use it as an amp! But it can be kind of hit or miss depending on source or opamp config. it is usually good.

dx90 specs: Output Level: 1.3Vrms(Low gain), 2.0Vrms(Mid gain), 2.8Vrms(High Gain)

so if you need it to get louder...

I see, I solely use IEMs and earbuds, so even on my DX90, I alternate between low and mid gain, and usually just slightly over half of the volume. So I doubt I will be needing it just for boosting volume. But in terms of being a DAP? How does it compare against the DX90?

I wish I could tell you. I have never so much as seen an ibasso device. I think some others here might be able to help.
