I guess in this case instead of 168 [chai]....it's 168 [chien].

First off, congrats, they look beautiful.

Next question, do you know if they have been tested and/or need to be fixed by ATH (I believe there is a frequency roll off issue)? I don't want to be a downer here, just trying to help!

The L3000 was in a sealed box. I assume it has never been taken out since it was shipped by Audio-Technica.

No, it hasn't been tested by AT. I played test CDs that have various tones and sounds. One of the CDs was tracks of RealTraps test tones. http://www.realtraps.com/test-cd.htm

I compared the sound of the L3000 with the AD2000 and didn't hear anything wrong with the L3000.

Heh, it's a shame no one's bringing one of the key holy relics of team ATOWF to the meet - a HA2002 or DHA3000!

Best,

Thanks... for a while I was seriously considering them. Had bluetin accepted credit cards I would've been $2k poorer.

The bank transfer thing just turned me off.

Congrats on picking up a pair as supplies are now dwindling. I have my pair and think they are one set of awesome cans. Hope they bring you many hours of listening bliss. I love it how the smell of the Connolly leather from the cans waffles in the air when opening up the velvet box, smells heavenly.

i feel like a poor bum now. lol. my fanciest fons would be rs1 or hd650. neither are really my favorites anyways. just my most expensive. even i though cheated and didn't pay full prices.

those are awesome! if i had tons of $$$ i'd actually order that pair without hearing them. if i didn't like them i'd frame them and hang them on the wall!
but what would be the chances someone didn't like them
