What's up with 'You jerk'.

Oh, that was meant as a joke. I was trying to said that your impressions are pushing me closer to pulling the trigger on the W5000 and thus taking a hit on my wallet and thus the "you jerk." Guess I should of put a smilie (like

and

)along with it since letters in a forums can't really carry some meaning like tone in real world.

That's great to hear...particularly impressive given that you and gurus have had these cans for only two days with probably less than 50 hours of burn in on them. But at this current point do you prefer the W5000 to your L3000? I'm also assuming the W5000 should continue to evolve and mature in the coming days.

How well do the W5000 and other closed cans, prevent sound leakage? I'm a closed can virgin

On another note, I would forego the HE60 in your list and add the Omega IIs.

Agree. For people who love L3000, the Omegas should be a better fit.

Huh?
O2 instead of L3000? Never! The O2 have such a different soundstage and a much more darker sound - there is such a huge difference between these headphones I would never change my L3000 for an O2

Sorry I didn't make myself clear.

I was saying that if you like the L3000, you should prefer the sound signature of the Omega2s over the HE60s. (Being the L3000 and O2 quite different indeed)

I totally agree! For my type of music too! And it sounds good on both Rock and Jazz. Like I listened to about 10 hrs of music yesterday. Everything sounded good.

The King is dead (L3000)!

Long Live the King (W5000)!

How does the W5000's bass impact compared to the L3000?

Thanks,

There is more detail in the bass region. The notes are articulate and clean, lot of definition, more impact (in the mid bass)than the L3000 and none of the boominess associated with the L3000. Cd used : Rob Wasserman-Duets.

Not to effect the credibility of are friend guru... but the ear pads do not appear to be the same as the l3000's. The shape of the l3000's are sort of D like (thick part in the back), and the w5000 seem to be equally padded in all areas - As can be seen in the slide show of photos here http://www.audio-technica.co.jp/atj/sc/ath-w5000/ . On top of that what's with the "I think" additionally added to the last statement? The wing construction is clearly different then the l3000.... umm for some reason I question Guru's judgment on the w5000 vs l3000 , but I will refrain from saying much more, as I do hope (along with the rest of head-fi) that all he has said is true
