se215 is the lowest priced iem by shure. It means it is the successor of se110 series. And they have dynamic single driver. So, they have the shure sound quality or they are just the result of selling a lot decision by shure just like senheiser cx300,400 ,500?

w2 worth the extra 100 $? Dual armatur driver will cost too?

i know shures and Phonaks soung signature. but dont any idea about westones.

thanks four your post. what dont u like in se215's?

off  course there is no such a better iem. preference is the key word. mine preference: balanced, natural iems. Just like pfe's. but i have some fit problem on PFE's. But if the phonak is far better i am going to buy it.

So, what about PFE vs.W2? or SE315?

I also prefer the westone 2 to the shure se215.  Better fit, more comfort (smaller shells of westone compared to the shure, better cable and plug)better sound (at least to me).  I listen to a lot of rock and metal and find that the only thing missing from the westone is a "tiny" bit of thump in the bass, otherwise it's perfect.

Note not listened to the phonaks or 315's.  Other thing to note is that there seems, and I do stress seems to be a faulty batch of shure se215's going around at the mo, take a look at the appreciation thread for more details.

Cheers.

I haven't heard the pfe's, but I do have the W2 and the 215s. The westone is a much much better phone, but it should be for the significantly higher price. As davidcotton said, better cables, better sound and better comfort. Significantly better detail. On the other hand, the 215 does have better bass response, so if you listen to a lot of rap/hip-hop you may prefer them.

Good luck!

The 215 has MORE bass, but I wouldn't call it better bass than the SE215. The 215 is engineered to be Shure's 'fun' iem for the masses. As a result, there's a bass emphasis & a complete lack of sparkle on the high-end. It just sounded extremely mediocre to me, and I could think of several cheaper models sounding better (Image S4, RE0, anything by Soundmagic, Phonak Perfect Bass, etc...)

The 215 is built to be more durable than many of these, but the cord is God-awful because of this. It's the first cord I've used that could very possibly be too tough. It's thickness & toughness causes some of the worst microphonics I've heard, and the memory-wire designed to stay over the ear never stays in place because of the cord's stiffness.

thanks guys.

the se215 has been eliminated for me. I dont want a fun, i need a natural iem. i like my music as it's recorded. so PFE and w2 ismy new dilemma.

hey folk !

Can the W2's selling on Amazon be fake? Current price is $179 on amazon, while general price for W2's is $249 on the other sites like Earphonesolutions.com.

No, that isn't a fake.

If they sold the W2 at the suggested retail price ($249) no one would buy them because you could get a W3 for (almost) that price on Amazon.

PFE with gray filters is among the most neutral you'll find (except, maybe, the ER-4). Measurements abound too, to prove it.
