W1000x V W1000/W5000 question

There's a buying itch that needs to be scratched but first I'd like to hear from anyone with direct experience of the ATH-W1000X against the W1000 and W5000.
If I get a apair of W1000X am I going to have a noticable difference from my other 2 AT woodies.
From what I have read there is a difference, most noticable in the bass and lower mids- correct.
One report read likened them more as a sibling of the L3000(which I've heard) than the other current AT phones???
 
I'd like to be able to stay with AT as i like their comfort and build quality.

The W1000X sounds quite different. More like a Denon. The mids are a bit more recessed then the 1000 and 5000, and it also has much more powerful bass.
