Not sure I'm gonna get help from an old thread like this but lets try:

Quote:
I've had them for a month. Do you think he might tell me how to open it? I was thinking about making the glue on the housing of it warm so that it gets loose, so I can open it up. Also I think it might be a cold solder in it thats causing it to stop working. Whenever I put it in my ear and pull it a bit out of my ear till it creates pressure it works.

Well I had that very same problem, I opened them and try to loosen 'em from the case(they were glued) and it started to sound. But, still, the right one sounds significative with less volume than the left one which was ok from the start.

I opened the housing up and measured the driver itself. It somehow increased to 100 ohms. Does anyone know how this could happen?
Will post a picture of the driver when I wake up tomorrow (Live in Belgium so time is different.)

EDIT: Found the problem.
It was driver flex, I never knew driver flex could cause these kind of problems. The resistance is now going down when I burn it in.
I will still post the picture of the insides of the GR06 tomorrow. (Might be useful for poeple that want to recable their GR06.)

Heavy driver flex... these drivers need more than 60 hours after soldering to go back to "normal" performance.

Just had to resolder the cable as an accidental trip to the washing mashine loosened the glue; after those burn-in hours the sound went back to "normal", and the "veil" that covered the sound right after the soldering went away.

Ok, so what did you two burn in exactly... I've opened them but I had no idea what should I do.

Pukka, ayuda por favor?

No sure if I understand driver flex correctly, but I never thought that pressure could make this :O

EDIT: Ok, you two refer to make the IEMs play some music/noise non-stop for 60 hours, right?

My gr06s have been sitting in a cupboard for months after the right ear stopped working. Today i took the right earpiece apart and saw the cable inside was frayed a bit. Put some eletrical tape around it to stop it shorting out.

Now it works! However the right ear is considerably quieter. Anybody know of any solution?

Reviving this thred to describe my problem and solution.

Problem: Right piece started to sound considerably quieter than left, thought I'll need some rewiring but it's turned out to be just dirty grid (3-4 years of use, I do clean my ears but guess it was not enough).

Solution: took out the grid with a needle, cleaned it, cleaned ear piece canal, put it back together and everything is cool and dandy again.

Just to add to the conversation  - had two pairs of them. One broke down - after I stomped them with my army boots, destroying one of the drivers completely. Yeah, danish army boots will not notice even a mine under them : D Before that - cable was damaged slightly in one place - didn't affect sound at all. A mild heat treatment sealed the hole.

Love them so much that bought a second pair instantly. This one is built more user-friendly (filters can relatively easily be removed for cleaning) and works till today - listening to them now. Best 50 I've spent in a while. Second time : )

Would love an in-line mic + controls though, as primary source is Marshall London.
Like GR06 better than included Marshall Mode, which are not so comfortable, suffer from microphonics and pretty poor overall build quality.
