A screenshot shows a whopping 162,610 points on AnTuTu, and if that is the XPlay 5 indeed, it is the highest score on the benchmarking platform. For the sake of comparison, the LG G5, which beats the Galaxy S7 on AnTuTu, scored 133,054, while Samsung’s new flagship scored 116,668. This is almost 3 times what the very powerful Galaxy Note 5 scored. The Vivo XPlay 5 is said to be powered by Qualcomm’s new SoC, the Snapdragon 820, which is the same inside the G5. That said, and again, if these test results are from the real deal, it seems that these extra 2 GB of RAM really make a big difference.

Also that Hi-Fi 3.0 suggests a good dac.

I'm looking forward to this phone as well. Maybe just blind buy, do some review and sell off. :D

So what we have here... Cirrus Logic CS4398 and AD45257 amp... That's looking very interested :D. I am wondering how Vivo did implementation of this nice hardware, maybe like LG whit V10? We will se in future.

I owned the Vivo X5 Max briefly and the sound was really good (battery life and operating system not so good). It will be quite difficult to get the XPlay 5S outside China though. The one retailer I know who ships to Europe charges a large markup in price. Also, I'm assuming this won't have expandable storage.

From what I understand, this phone uses ES9028+OPA1612 for left channel, and another ES9028+OPA1612 for the right. Very interesting! Some high-end music players have the same design. Looking forward to test results.

Does anybody know whether the Hi-Fi feature in Vivo phones still only works with the stock music app? This was the case when I had the X5 Max, but hopefully this has been changed.

I was interested in this phone but now I am not so sure anymore. Supposedly this phone will not have NFC nor ANT+ nor LTE800 which is important in Germany if you are for example with Vodafone among others.

Really a shame! Even new Oppo now have LTE800 enabled. This phone was otherwise perfect for me. 128GB minimum requirement: Check, OLED Screen: Check, 4GB or more: Check, High capacity battery: Check, Good Camera: Check, Dual Sim: Check, High quality HiFi 3.0: Check!

LTE: FAIL :frowning2:
