HELLO FROM VISION EARS

Head-fi-production-banner.jpg

Hello head-fiers,

We are happy to announce that we officially joined the head-fi community with an official profile now.

In this section of the forum, we will announce new products and features, answer your questions and maybe share some news and insights regarding the company.

My name is Johannes. Some of you might know me from E-Mails or the phone. I started working at VE in beginning of 2014 when we only were a team of 4 passionate people (Amin + Marcel, plus 2 employees). As the company was (and still is) a rather small and personal one, I wandered through different positions from soldering the actual technical parts, laser engraving In-Ears and cases to now being responsible for customer- and artist relations, workshops/trainings, consulting and some things more.
As an experienced sound-engineer and musician on the road as well as a studied musicologist, I am aiming to help you with all your questions regarding our products and your personal journey in sound.

Amin and Marcel also will check in from time to time. We will try to always mark, who is posting, so that you can see whom you are in contact with.

We are looking forward to your questions and input!

All the best from Cologne/ Germany,

Johannes

Nice to see you here Johannes, and great that Vision Ears will have a presence here on Head-fi now too. Looking forward to seeing more of the gorgeous designs and new releases. (Still hoping for more universal options, which I know I am not alone in.)

Hi,
Curious about the Elysium? What were your goals re sonic signature with the dynamic Mid? Also, what do you think the estat tweeter contributes?
Thanks

Hey Johannes,

Are there any plans to offer a reshelling service for your IEMs? I know a lot of CIEM companies have been moving away from it because of the costs involved, but the inability to transfer ownership is definitely a point of concern for anyone looking to get a custom.

Curious about the Elysium? What were your goals re sonic signature with the dynamic Mid?

Hi Ricky,

We are always experimenting with the technical components that are available on the market. And during development, we are always checking for combinations and ways that are rather unconventional. We sure know that the first thought on a dynamic driver is to let it do the low end job, as it has a high mass and surface. This is known for huge and warm bass. But it also often lacks control and definition like we want it. So we wanted to use the warmth in the mid range without having to leave out the precision in the low end. So we went for a fast and defined BA driver for the lows and the dynamic driver for the mids. But we did not stop there. As it is combined with the electrostatic driver it was not easy to tame the dynamic dragon either, as it turned out to overrule the highs with its rather broad and uncontrolled transmission. So we invented a special passive filter for the DD that forms the sound of the dynamic driver into a certain extend of order and precision. This one is called HALK (High precision Acoustic Leveling Chamber) and can be detected in the pictures as the neon green part of the ELYSIUM.

Also, what do you think the estat tweeter contributes?

The electrostatic driver added a completely new dimension to our developmental work. It is completely different from what BAs do. Technically as well as acoustically. So it challenged us on a lot of different levels. With the electrostat it was possible to create a sound-signature that has definition and resolution and does not harm your ears ion any way. Lovers of crisp and outgoing high-midd and highs that let guitars and voices pop out of the mix will not love that one. But it contributes a warm and defined richness to the ELYSIUM which would not have been possible with any BA driver we know.

I hope that helps a bit.

All the best

Johannes
