Has anyone heard K872 or K812 with V222/V202?
haven't used the G108, but I have used the G111 Mk1, although that was well before I got the v222. You could check the G108 thread—there's a user who has had both. I can say that the v222 provides a tight, forward bass response.Hi everyone, currently my main listening takes place through a Mac interfaced with an RME ADI-2 FS connected via XLR to a Lake People G108 and a Cambridge dacmagic 200m connected via RCA to a Lake People G111 MKII.
The headphones I usually use are: Sennheiser 660S2, HD6XX, HD650, Hifiman Ananda, Sundara, Dan Clark Audio Aeon Closed X, Focal Hadenys.
The question is: is it worth spending a non-negligible amount for the V222, will I have a really appreciable difference especially if used in balanced mode instead of the Lake People G108?
I'm very attracted to the idea of a fuller sound, and even deeper and more pronounced bass but I haven't found any opinions on how much the change is, compared to the G108.
Yes, the SE output is not the best option for the v222. This has been addressed before. To make full use of the amp, you need to use the XLR output.I have a question about the V222 amplifier in particular. Is the single ended 6.3mm output any worse than the balanced output on the V222? I've read that some amps are built around the balanced side of things and not as much refinement for single ended, so I'm not sure whether this is true for the V222 amp.
Thank you.
I have the G111 MKII and V222. I can say that when I let go of my MJ3, I went back to the G111 for a bit with my Dan Clark E3 using a 6.3 connection and was not happy with the sound. So, I took a chance on the V222 and back to XLR connection, and it satisfied me. The G111 seemed harsh to my ears with the E3, while the V222 is more refined, spacious and detailed. The MJ3 has magic and emotion, but was harsh with poor recordings, and was unreliable in my case.Hi everyone, currently my main listening takes place through a Mac interfaced with an RME ADI-2 FS connected via XLR to a Lake People G108 and a Cambridge dacmagic 200m connected via RCA to a Lake People G111 MKII.

I can't answer this question. But if you haven't read the G108 thread, you should. On pg-1 several people comment on its sound, with one person comparing it to the Violectric V222 directly.Hi everyone, currently my main listening takes place through a Mac interfaced with an RME ADI-2 FS connected via XLR to a Lake People G108 and a Cambridge dacmagic 200m connected via RCA to a Lake People G111 MKII.

I have answered about the differences many times in this thread. The V202 is half the V222. The sound performance between the V202 and the single ended output of the V222 is the same. The V202 has a different internal gain though. This may have been addressed somewhere in the 144-page thread ... what are the differences between the V222 and V202? I can see the V202 doesn't have balanced output, but any difference in sound quality between the two?
Thanks for that. I actually intend to use a balanced IEM (Hisenior Mega5Est). So, how do these 2 situations compare in sound quality: V202 single-ended out via an adapter to the IEM vs V222 balanced out to the IEM?I have answered about the differences many times in this thread. If you have single ended only headphones and you don't intend to go balanced in the future then pick the V202.
I never used this powerful amplifier with an IEM. However the performance should be the same with either headphones or IEMs. The balanced output of the V222 is more expansive, dynamic, better separation and imaging you get the point. Sound signature is the same though. Thanks for that. I actually intend to use a balanced IEM (Hisenior Mega5Est). If you're going with the V222, I'd go with a balanced cable like one of these 4.4mm to dual XLR cables.Just out of curiosity : is it possible to pair the V222 with iBasso D16 Taipan ?

If possible, would this cable be okay?
I'm a bit confused with the "Opt / Coax" Line out, on the iBasso D16.
