I´m chiming in ...
First of all I am glad that there are some folks carefully reading the manual AND our web site.
So all our efforts are not in vain
Iindeed there are some things to adjust together with the 192 kHz X-Mos USB interface.
And the answer concerning the sample rate / resolution with the X-Mos USB chip-set differs again for Windows and Mac.
Mac users can be glad because the X-Mos chip-set supports:
- all sample rates: 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 196 kHz
- both resolutions 16 and 24 bit
... and all this for all current OS without the need of proprietary drivers
Windows users must have installed at least Windows 7 for the X-Mos chip-set - but all newer OS, namely 8, 8.1 and 10 are stable working.
They also have to download the driver from our web site which supports:
- 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 176.4, 196 kHz sample rate with 16 bit resolution !!!
- 44.1, 48, 96 and 192 kHz sample rate with 24 bit resolution - NO 88.2, NO 176.4 with 24 bit resolution !!!
So the rather rare double or quad speed files have to be converted to another sample rate before.
Red-book compatible material (44.1 kHz) is better converted inside V850 to a higher sample rate that inside the computer.
The sample-rate converter integrated in V850 will surely do a better job !
So I would rather suggest that the Tenor 8802 chip-set would be the better solution for the Windows world as it supports
the complete set like the X-Mos solution does for Macs ...
Thank you,
