Not sure on that one, maybe various weight options ?
Local DJ store lists the Pioneer at 11g including hardware, assuming cartridge screws,
Ortofon states 9.4g

That will work. I might also get something heavier for SoundSmith which is 6.8g total. ThxNot sure on that one, maybe various weight options ?

Btw standard hardware set, two screws and nuts average around 1g.
That’s my NOS SoundSmith SMMC1. I misplaced my OG SME cheesegrater headshell and I would really like to get other carts into rotation on my DIY TT.
I was surprised to find out how much this particular cartridge sells for these days. It probably cost me close to half of today’s MSRP.

Found a 40% off deal on these two. Hope it’s the right fit.
I still have my old (2000 vintage) Ortofon Rohmann sitting in a drawer. I wonder if it is worth retipping…
Back in the day, it was world class. When it started to show signs of wear, I replaced it with the Jubilee, but kept it (I got the Jubilee at a decent discount). When that wore out, I traded it in for a new one. The Rohmann is still sitting there. I always assumed that the suspension would be shot by now, but one reads about 1960s SPUs still giving sterling service…

Choose a retipping service that offers an inspection for a nominal fee, if there’s any cantilever or suspension issues that are deemed too expensive put in a glass case, or set it in acrylic resin for a conversation piece …
Any recommendations in the EU?

I heard about those guys in France but don’t remember their name. Would have to really dig deep to find out what their name was. They also sell some cartridges of their own. If it comes back to me, I’ll let you know.Any recommendations in the EU?

That didn’t take long….. I remember those guys from one of the audio shows. Looked legit and had some nice vintage cartridges for sale. I think they expended their business since then.

That's really a good tip. When I went to the shop to inquire about retipping my Koetsu I was cited prices around 800 and things like 'busy', 'difficult' and 'not good experience'. That really p... me off. Look, if you don't want to help me, just say so. They were realy unhelpfull and uncooperative. Not a good MO if you would want to reel me in as a client.
This sounds like a good option. At least knowledgeable and skilled. Price yet unknown.
And of course there's Expert Stylus in the UK. But they are pretty swamped.

Local Garrott brothers are well regarded if you’re not in a hurry, if you look at their price list the current exchange rate is around €64 to A$100 …
Christmas vinyl tunes for all my vinyl enthusiasts. And rest of the community.
