Vintage Pickering PH-4955 headphones

Picked these up recently at a charity auction.  They look cool, but are heavy and sound just OK compared to my other modern HPs.

So you don't like quite as much as the girl in the ad?  I wish more vintage sets sounded awesome, because the aesthetics of them are fascinating.   Those look awesome.

they had to make a stuffed girl for the pic, so her neck didn't break from the HP weight :D

Look to have aged nicely, unlike my Pioneer monitor 10 :D .

Interesting to see it's a dual driver unit.

I'm gonna try to bring this thread back…  I'm looking at buying a vintage pickering HP on CL for $40.  It's a 3 drivers rectangle cup, does anyone know anything about them?  To me they just look cool but have no idea how they sound or know anything about their quality...
