I was just having that discussion with a few of my suitemates yesterday. We were talking about a lot of the same fallacies. I really enjoyed how nicely the whole thing was structured as well.

I don't believe in Zimmerman.

"If you want to believe in pseudoscientific or supernatural ideas..." (lists a bunch of things)

Generally a good video and I agree with the main thrust of it, but this person is unfortunately less sceptical (in the true sense of the word) and more prejudiced then they seem to think they are.

Those ideas are not necessarily pseudoscientific or supernatural at all (although I do not happen to believe in them).

Moreover, there is an undercurrent that all domains of experience are completely explainable through science, which belies the definition of science itself.

I watched that video and thought it was a great piece of work, although the people that should be watching it are the ones that won't.

I have the same feeling. This video is kind of «science for dummies». Nothing to really disagree with. But it replaces some crude neurotic preconceptions with some crude neurotic preconceptions: It represents a suggestive pseudo-religious message that the brain (more precisely: the left half, metaphorically speaking) is all you should rely on in the end.

What can you rely on, other than the brain? Everything you are is nothing more than neurons and neuronal interactions.

An unprovable assertion, and in my opinion a pretty bleak one.

That's exactly the kind of approach to reality the video represents.
