please consider this as 100% serius...

i`m audiophile for quite some times now, and have some of nice stuff in my listening rooms ... from 300b singlended, el34, valve preams, full range speakers, turntables...

lately i tried to switch to headphones for more comport and late night listening and i was trying to look for something special with valves ....

now what i want to say... i have uniqe opurtunity to work with specialist in tube-valve manufacturing- specialy point to point, hi end designer. he know really much about this special tehnology and is himself audiophile for more than 20 years. (btw he make his living out of it). this man produce hi end preams and amps and speaker in range from 3000$ and up above...

what i was thinking and talking to him ( he is my good friend), is that if there would be enugh interesting people, we could build really best sounding tube-vavle headphone amp, who will drive almost any heahphone and would also have preamp - line out... and i was thinking on price around 500$.

please consider this i would go only to direct via web orders and distribution for minimal costs and direct support...

i need your feedback on this subject and your ideas...

hope you all find this interesting..

I'd be interested, but there's a lot of competition at that price point.

I'd also want to know who the manufacturer is.

And I would still qualify myself as "tentatively" interested.

Count me in too. There's a lot of serious competition in the tube area, but if your friend can pull of a no-holds-barred tube amp that could compete with the best at that price, I want one!

I'd be interested as well, just make sure it lives up to the expectations.

I don't think this idea would be feasible, since $500 is not pocket change to most people. We would need to be sure it is a good amp and a good buy with comparisons of other amps in that price range. I am a little interested but that is it.

I'd want to know a lot more about everything before even suggesting yes or no. Who the manufacturer is, and full blown specs on the amp before it hits the production line.

ok i see there is some interest

let me know if 500% is too much, we can probably make it under 500% but then there is question of parts etc...

i need to know how much important is desing beacuse we can put the costs of outlook down if more people is interested. ok ill try to be honest, i would like to give something out to audiophile headphones lovers and yes i would take some profit but belive me there gonna be a lots of hours and knowledge and support involved.

i would like to offer a standout product...

please tell me what would be consumer-price that will reach not all but more off you...

mybe we can do some less price model first and later a step out..

ok this is anothe thing... ill have desing in my head for tube-valve mobile headphone amp but this will be if put out over 1000$ someday.... but think totaly tube-driven amp in small portable case with hours to listen... and yes its possible but its gonna be costy to made...

so guys what would be accepted price for more of you so we can accumulate costs and if case desing in not so important then we can start lower it down..

do u need pream out.... or not cost down...

.... plese give me feedback..

I will consider buying this amp only if:

1. $500
2. Sounds better than other tube amps under $1000
3. Great match with most headphones and poweramp
4. 10+ postive reviews from here and Headwize
5. Preamp
6. Detail info
7. Highly 'tweakable'
8. Aftersale support
9. Good looking

My requirements:
- $500-600
- High-quality parts and power unit
- Detacheable, IEC-style power cord
- Must sound better than anything under or around $1000
- Uses type of tubes that are not incredibly rare
- Please use something other than Sovteks for stock tubes
- If necessary, don't worry about the pre-amp section
- Send a couple of evaluation units out to people like jude, for initial reviews. Only offer for sale after these reviews have been published.
