Have no idea, they have there two rooms, small and bigger one.
She didn't find our reservation first because she was looking at other room reservations.

Anyway, see you guys tomorrow!

Cool. I'll be there. As I said before, I'll be late (~2pm), but I'm bringing:

  1. HE5/EF5
  2. Audiotailor Jade
  3. markl D5000 (w/ Lawton cups)
  4. Modded M-Audio 24/96 DAC (with spdif/toslink/aes digital input)
  5. ultra-cheapo cd player with digital output

Last minute change of plans, looks like I’ll make it there.
I’ll bring:
2 Tube Amps
6T9
6N1P – 6SN7
and whatever else I can dig up.

Pete.

I'll be there but I managed to forget my portable rig at work and I'm not going have time to pack up the GS-X after my bike ride this morning. I'll bring the HD800s though.

Thank you folks! It was worth the drive this weekend to come up and try stuff.

The downside is that I fell in love with a spendy purchase that will have to compete with my other spendy purchases.

Disclaimer: I can understand why people really like the HD800s, they are nice. Actually, one of the best things about this event was that I now have a better idea between a whole series of headphones.

edit: sat next to that monster that PeterP brought and watched the tubes glow in time to the music. That was slick. Bet that's fun to watch in the dark. Almost forgot about that.

Thanks, all! It was a lot of fun, glad I had a chance to meet a few of you. (Shoulda had name tags though to associate people with online ids...

I know it's geeky but still...) This was my first head-fi meet, and it was well worth the drive down from Baltimore.

I was glad to finally have a chance to hear some HD800s. Very nice! Though my initial impression is that they weren't far and away better than the HE5, but had a very different feel. Hard to tell though from 10 minutes listening in a noisy room. I am now inspired to try to build a tube amp that's capable of driving the HE5.

Someday...

I wish I'd had more time to try out all the various electrostats, maybe next time!

I was at the Wringling Brothers circus instead since my g/f "surprised" me with tickets to it this morning... arghhh.

The good news is that Vlad is going to sign up for the room in another 3 months. I can also look into my neighborhood library. It just opened in the fall and every table has built in outlets.
