Is anyone willing to try and reserve the room, or a room at a different location?  I am unable to do this due to my job (could have to leave at any time with a 24h notice...)

I tried to reserve a room yesterday for early December, but everything was booked up at the George Mason library. I tried to stay up until until midnight to book early (slots open up exactly 2 months early) but had gotten my flu shot and had a reaction, so I was wiped out. The stress of the shutdown didn't help either (cue the world's tiniest violin). As a MoCo resident, I'm not sure if I can even reserve a NoVa library room, but will see if I can find something else reasonable for early December. If not, we can shoot for the GM lib in early Jan and make sure we have our Schiit together when the res opens next month.

That sounds like a plan to me.  I will bring all my gear in my sig. (Except for the monitors/sub of course)

Anything scheduled?

I checked with MoCo libraries and those rat b***tards charge $20/hour for non-profit groups and the reservation period is closed for 2013 slots. Best best is to get the jump on the early Jan reservations for the GM library in NoVa.

I intend to make one of these at some point, just need to get my schedules to align. :)

Would anyone have an issue if I scheduled something a bit more south in VA? Maybe Fredericksburg or stafford?

That would eliminate some DC ppl and most of the MD ppl too I'd imagine.

   Is that near Kings Dominion?

Fredericksburg is north of KD by ~40 mi.  Stafford is ~10 mi. north of F'burg.  Dale City (Potomac Mills area) seems like a good midway point from F'burg to DC.  May even coax some Richmonders up.

Of course, there's always the Germanna Community College... "west" campus... *cough cough*

You're talking about locations that are at least 100 miles from me, so I'm not likely to make it.  If we keep it close to the DC beltway you should be able to draw from the entire metro area.
