I wanted to order the Moon Audio Silver Dragon Headphone cable for my M-100 but the "headphone connection type" options only offer the M80 and LP2. Is the M-100 the same connection as those?

Not exactly. The M-100 has a deeper socket in which the audio must enter whereas the M-80 holds the cable outside the headphone and the LP/LP2 have a more shallow socket.

Another more technical question....how does a two-sided upgrade cable work in a one-sided headphone connection?

You would need a y-cable to solve that, but I'm not positive if that will work. You can try plugging in both sides of the M-100, but it alters the sound. I've done it for fun and it sounds strange.

Right now the two sides act as input/output configuration. In order for a two sided balanced option to work you'd need to open them up and fully mod it for two sided input, but that would fully remove the option to have only one sided listening.

Based on the dimensions listed on this page, http://v-moda.com/xl-memory-cushions/, I have determined that the XL pads will have the same vertical height as the stock pads, however they will be both deeper and wider.
 
The dimensions of the stock pads are roughly 93x67x14mm. The dimensions of the XL pads as listed on the page above are 93x75x24mm.

Thank you. I had done a search and the Moon Audio site indicated their cable being the best option for the M-100 but I guess it's a custom mod job..

Why don't you just call them?  They should know whether or not their cable works with the M-100.  Please post the info if you end up finding out, as it seems not everyone is under the impression that it works.

I looked it up before and that is a hardwired mod NOT a plug-in.
