V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Just out of curiosity, why do people get the M100's if they want to mod/EQ them to flatten the response out? I'd imagine there are far more suitable products.

I couldn't take it, after reading your post SomeGuyDude, I literally just called up the retailer from where I got my m-100's and asked about an exchange.

Now I'm back with a pair of AKG 545. The feeling and sound of these headphones are so much more comfortable.

Sorry guys but I guess this is the end of my journey with the M-100.

Hey man. I think everyone's goal here is to get the best product for our wants, right? If you like the 545's better then that means you scored a win in my book. I'm in love with the M100s but I'm a bass guy (and I'm okay with the less-than-perfect comfort level).

Personally, I do prefer the K545 over the M-100 as well, the bass goes just as deep, but isn't raised quantity wise.  The M-100s are such a fun phone though.  OK, enough about the AKG...  I actually wanted to write this post saying that I never really had any comfort issues with the M-100.  Yes, the XL pads are more comfortable, but the stock were always comfortable for me.  Granted, I have small ears and a small head...  It probably has much to do with it :p

Wrong. If this were true then we'd all be fighting over the 300 Orpheus headphones that Sennheiser made and never mind the $30K prices they command on eBay when one goes up for sale. No, what most of us want is something that sounds good at prices we can afford, even if it means applying $4 mods to $300 headphones. Because spending four bucks on some tape is a better buy than a five hundred dollar amplifier.

That's why I have my M-100. It's a good upgrade from the ATH-M50. Thing is, I'd become accustomed to my KRKs which are anything but fun. Bringing M-100's bass down a bit makes sense to me because that's what I want to hear most of the time. That's a lot of why I'm >< close to squeezing the trigger on AKG K 551. They're big and bulky but they sound amazingly good to me, like an upgrade from my KRKs.

Am I keeping my M-100? Yeah. It's a good gaming headset with the boom mic. Someone would have to make me a really convenient offer before I consider letting them go.

LOL, true true.  It's a shame that the Boom Mic won't work on the K545 (I hear it's using a 2.5 mm jack up top :/)...  It's even more odd because the K845 (the BT cousin) that I have uses a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm connection :p  So the Boom Mic should does work :)

This has always been a thing for me, but what I hate most is that the lining of the stitches don't line up with the memory foam corners... ugh @_@
This also happened for me with the Fostex T50RP alpha pads...

I have no experience with either I'm afraid. I do use the E18 but mainly for its DAC ability. What are you pairing your cans with?

I'm going to buy a buy an amp for my M100s soon enough. Whats the pros and cons between the C&C BH and Fiio E11 with the M100s?

Don't know about these, but I have the VMODA Vamp Verza and it plays well with the M-100.

I have an e11 that I use with a laptop and a phone. It'll do everything you could possibly need.

TBH the M100 doesn't need an amp. I don't mean that like "you can get away with not using an amp" I mean like "I have an e11 and it just sits on my nightstand because I don't use it". The only time I feel a need for it is when I'm aiming to really BLAST hip hop with bass boosted high. Other than that, it runs off whatever I hook it up to just fine.
