Dude I like your custom V-80s! Sweet engraving on the shield :)

Thanks! They were worth every cent. Now to save up another $350-$400 for my M-100/custom shields?/amp plus all the ridicule from friends and family for spending so much on headphones (again).

the hidden feature could be dual drivers like a supertweeter and a woofer for each ear,
the cord could roll up on elastic for storage,
the microphone could be retractable,
there could be a choice of wired through one or both cups,

and I'm out of ideas

it is dual driver already.....

It's dual-diaphragm. Not the same thing. leemaniac is talking about 4 drivers total, 2 in each ear. What all V-Moda headphones has is dual-diaphragm which looks like this:

It's one driver, but with 2 parts. This is a quote from Tyll at Innerfidelity:
"Proprietary "Dual Driver" has two parts: a center dome, and surrounding flexure. Kolton claims the center dome is responsibe for clearer mids and highs, while the surrounding flexure improves bass response."

yeah i meant separate drivers totally like the in-ear models with 3 speakers for each ear.

I couldnt think of a worse design...

Agreed, stuffing multiple drivers in headphones = bad idea.  We've tried it!  you see, it's hard enough to QC one driver.  Let alone multiple, they are just too small and have too great of variances.   It creates exponential problems matching the "tracking" of the L/R channels and unit to unit sound.  We're always experimenting, however, so who knows!

I'm really interested in how the M-100s are going to perform and compete against some other headphones in the price range. Thinking of MDR-Z1000, DT 1350, even the D5000 to name a few. I have a feeling the M-100s will surpass my expectations. I hope that tonally, they'll sound very natural.
