I'm very interested in buying the M80s but does anyone know how buying from a non-authorised reseller affects the warranty?
 
According to V-Modas website Amazon are the only authorised online seller in the UK but don't have any stock. You can buy from a couple of sellers which are fulfilled by Amazon but these sellers aren't authorised. Not sure whether to take the risk or not.
 
Also, how well do the M80's isolate?  Could I listen to these in an office environment without annoying other people?
 
Any help would be appreciated.

Should be fine in an office, someone would have to be sitting on your desk for them to hear any faint traces of your music...

They don't isolate you completely from the outside noise but I doubt office noise would be audible unless you work in a very noisy environment. Sitting at an airport with them I could hear PA announcements from my gate or the next gate over but they were very muffled, would have to pause the music to make them out, people noise was inaudible.

For me that's the perfect level of isolation for on ear portables, just enough to still be somewhat aware of my surroundings, if I want to be further isolated I grab my IEM.

I'd buy from an authorized seller myself, but that's just me. 
 
Others won't be bothered too much, but they don't isolate from outside noise all that great. If the office is loud, that could be a problem. If relatively quiet, they should be good.

Have you tried contacting them?  From their website, it doesn't look like you would get any warranty, but I think their explanation is somewhat ambiguous.

Looks like isolation shouldn't be an issue.
 
I would much prefer to buy directly through Amazon but they haven't had any stock for while, which only leaves the non-authorised sellers on their website. The M80s are much harder to come by in the UK unfortunately.
 
I'll contact V-Moda and see what they say about the warranty, but I agree, looking at their website it doesn't look like you'd be covered.

No one carries them locally? I've seen them at Radio Shack and Microsoft stores (cheaper at the latter) but I've no clue if you've got either one over there, guessing not.

In regards to clamping force, mine had quite the clamp on them when I got them.  Uncomfortable, even.  They've conformed to my head over time though.  I have absolutely no concern about them falling off and they've been more than tested in that regard.

Well there is one place hifiheadphones that are mainly an online specialist headphone dealer and also have a sort of warehouse unit that you can visit by appointment, but according to V-Moda they are not an authorised reseller either.
 
We don't have any stores that I know of where you can walk in and buy V-Moda headphones.

So does anything know if the V ports really do anything? I covered them up with tape and I cant say I notice anything different. Its supposed to leak sound, right? So that it sounds more spacial, but I don't think I hear it. Anything that does leak out is so quiet relative to what you hear, always.

I have heard people say that it helps with venting heat so that your ears don't overheat for extended use.

Their purpose is to enhance the bass and creatr a larger soundstage. There should be a fairly obvious sonic difference. Idk about venting but that could work too

The vents increase sound stage and very slightly, bass. Every time I've covered them I've noticed.

Did you hear back from V-Moda? I ordered the M80s nearly 10 days ago on Amazon but they haven't come back in stock. I'm really tempted to just grab a pair from some resellers.

In the end I didn't bother asking as I looked again at the V-Moda website and its pretty clear to me that unless you buy from an authorised seller or V-Moda you won't be covered by the warranty. 
 
I've decided I'm not risking it, so I'm going to look at alternatives, unless Amazon get some stock in soon.
