Using the XLR 4-pin dedicated for K1000 with balanced HD650 ??

I was wondering if the XLR output specifically intended for the K1000 on amps such as the ASL MG OTL 32 DT or Woo Audio WA5 is any different from the XLR output of other balanced amps that are not marketed as being specifically dedicated for the K1000 (such as the NX-33) ? So with the HD650, would it provide the same the benefit as "going balanced" ?

I agree. To me it's a much more logical connection to use.

Just 1 connector, never worry about which is left and right...

the 3-pins are there for those of us with spare connectors on the ends of our cables clinking around. The TRS's are wired for SE use: one direct, the other 120 ohms for beyers.

I don't see any issues with that, as long as you are careful with the volume control.
The 4-pin XLR connector is great.
