I thought I would try using the AutoEQ database.

I have an A7 Galaxy phone with PowerAmp as my music player. The output is to a ChromeCast Audio unit connected to a Sennheiser TR 185 transmitting to RS185 headphones; these headphones are in the AutoEQ database.

I downloaded Wavelet from the Google Playstore.

However when I open Wavelet all I get is a screen showing the graphics equalizer.

There does not seem to be any way to import the AutoEQ settings for my 185.

I guess I need Wavelet Pro but that is not in Playstore, only plain Wavelet.

Any advice please?

If the app won't import the AutoEQ settings, then you can probably use the fixed-band graphic EQ instead. It looks like Wavelet may use a 9-band EQ though, instead of the standard 10-band EQ used by AutoEQ.

You can probably still use it though by entering your own values, based on your headphone's graphs. And I can try to help with this if you want. Here are the raw plots of your headphones from Rtings, for the left and right channels...

And here is its page on AutoEQ...

If you want some tips on how to take the above info and apply it to the 9-band EQ, just say so, and I'll suggest a few tweaks to try, to maybe get you a bit closer to a neutral, or your preferred sound. Or you could just try to do it by ear instead.

In the dedicated thread, someone seemed to have had success with android and Wavelet. But there is always a small degree of uncertainty with apps trying to affect sound, system wide. Might not work on some phones, or with just some apps.

Just in case, there seem to be a ’legacy mode’ in Wavelet to try and handle some of those reluctant audio apps. But you probably tried that already.
