I knew about the tomfoolery with other cables. The fact it's now extended to network cables is new to me.

I really think manufacturers need to be held accountable and provide proof of claims made.

If something like an ethernet cable is advertised as having an effect on sound quality, then this needs to be clearly shown how.

This sort of thing is just preying on people that don't understand the technology.

I get where you're coming from.
It's a difficult thing to prove, but at the same time also as difficult to disprove, like many other things in life, faith or the spiritual for eg. But let's not go there.

I usually don't join these debates or arguments much, but I like @teknorob23 and he is really one of the nicest guys on this forum. You can tell from his patient and tactful replies. It is unfortunate that he and his product were questioned in a thread of another contentious product which does not even belong to him.

He has offered to let you try his items. Really, why not just take up the offer and give it a shot? You may be pleasantly surprised, or you may not, and then life goes on.

I'll leave it.

Apologies for the thread hijack. @teknorob23 , I will be following this up outside of the forum.

Can't help myself. This is at least on topic.

The results mentioned are in the range outside of our ability to hear....

@shaitan667 you really need to find another thread to make your arguments. This thread should be about those who want to try out an EtherREGEN or own one and want to provide their experiences to others.

People like you come into threads quoting the science and often claiming to fully understand networking and yet the massive assumption you make is that the science is all fully understood and there is nothing left to discover... Well guess what, there are plenty of folks who have tried kit out and found they can hear a difference.

A friend of mine was in this camp until recently; he borrowed some expensive pieces of hardware and cables to plug into his Chord DAVE. Some kit (€10k+) didnt make much difference, it went back. Other kit and even things like USB cables, they actually made an audible and significant difference to his system. He bought that stuff, and it was maybe half the price of the expensive stuff. He cant explain why its better, doesn't match his experiences/understanding as an IT professional, but he can hear it...

I myself plugged an EE 8 Switch into my network and into a dCS Bartok. No idea why, but it sounded better...

My EtherREGEN arrives on Thursday and I will test that out as well. If it works, its stays, if not, it goes back... I will base my opinions of what i can clearly hear and not from what i have read and assume i understand...

Highly speed a/b testing is all I trust.

You listen to the same piece of music for 10 or 20 seconds - swap cables (very quickly) repeat same piece of music - see if you can hear a difference - rinse and repeat. Over and over.

“evaluating for a week” / “few days” is total BS to me. It’s not actual comparison. It just allows you to fall in love with your purchase and persuade / BS yourself.

Don’t get me started on ‘burn in’……

I picked up an EtherRegen and find it improves the sound of my system by providing a quieter, blacker background. The EtherRegen does get a bit hot, but I have an adjustable vertical MacBook stand that it fits into nicely on its side. The stand allows some space between the EtherRegen and the shelf, which brings down its temperature a bit.

Yes, that's exactly what various signal cleaners do. Enjoy your new purchase :)
Thought you’d like to know it’s powered by an iPower Elite and a SupaNova cable.

That's great to hear. Power components in general work on background as well, so our stuff with your EtherRegen synergizes well.
