The GAME module is also for IEM's, but comes at a premium of $169.  So is the GAME a better IEM module than the standard Gangi pictured above?

The most important difference is that the GAME amp has no hiss even with IEMs with low impedance and extremely high sensitivity - for instance about 120dB and about 30 Ohms may give a little hiss in the Standard  amp module for IEMs, but not with the GAME amp. The GAME amp also uses some audiophile favorite op-amps, but I haven't listened to the two IEM amps to compare sound quality.

Okay. Nice to know. However, I hear hiss from the Standard V2.0 module with both the e-Q7 and SM3. They are both very sensitive (around 120dB) and has relatively low impedance (about 30 Ohms).

OK, I've downloaded Foobar2000 and have been playing with it for a while.  I've figured out how I can convert my ALAC files to FLAC, but still can't figure out how to convert FLAC files to different bitrate/sampling rates of FLAC.  Also, what are those different "levels" of FLAC all about; is the 0 level which produces the largest file the one with no compression and therefore the highest quality of music?  Sorry for all the newbie questions (and on the wrong thread too...).  Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

All levels of flac teoretically have the same sq as they are all lossless compression. I have not looked into the levels but assume that the bigger the file the less resources will be required for playback.

To convert files in foobar select the tracks, rightclick and chose Convert and the select output format, destination and any dsp options you need. Sample rate and bit depth converters are part of the dsp options as is 5.2 to stereo and many others

The problem is that when I click Convert, I'm given FLAC as one of the format options of the output file.  When I click on FLAC, I get the option to chose anywhere between FLAC with "compression level" anywhere from 0 (biggest file, fast encode) and 8 (smallest file, slow encode), hence my question above about the significance of those FLAC levels of compression.  I don't see where I can chose to convert say a 24/88 file into a 24/96 one.  Am I missing anything?  By the way, I have FLAC encoder 1.2.1  (the latest version on the FLAC website), if it makes a difference.  Thanks nc8000.  I really appreciate your help with this.

If there's anyone out there who has experience with both the Audio-gd Reference 5.32 and Line Out from the HM-801, I'd very much appreciate any comparisons you might offer.  
 
I want a portable PCM1794UK  PCM1704UK DAC, but I'd like to know how the HM-801 stands up against the likes of the 5.32.
