Unveiled: Meet the HD 620S

It's not possible for one headphone to accommodate all personal preferences, but we are pretty confident that we are filling a decent sized hole in the market with it's tuning and presentation. Hope you get to hear them with your own gear and ears đź‘Ť
It is possible: HD650 and HD800S on a Soncoz SGP1 is all I need to enjoy any type of music :) It fixes the biggest complain - the bass.

@ericpalonen and @Jermo K i have a query regarding the hd600. As I understand the pads have been changed in 2021 which results in a change in sound - sure. But I had compared a granite marble top (silver screen) hd600 and a modern matte grey hd600 (made in Romania) with the same pads and I found a change in sound. The newer one sounded more veiled and less open as compared to the older one. Now, I had previously transplanted new drivers in the old variant chassis and found no change in sound compared to the original drivers. So, is there a change in sound due to the capsule itself? Was something changed? Or is it simply unit variation? It is to be noted that the modern hd600 was from the earliest batches off Romania. I couldn't conclude due to sample size of 1 each.

Eric, the 600 series pads won't fit the new HD620S? Different mounting system?
Correct. 500 series pads (velour) will fit but alter the experience of listening dramatically to where I would not recommend it. The HD 620S pads will be sold separately, however đź‘Ť

Interesting. Solderdude's reviews go a long way with me, and I will have to listen to it, although I am a confirmed open back fan.
One of the most useful parts of his reviews is measuring frequency response with a sequence of different amplifier output impedances. Much more helpful than having a single nominal impedance number to use with the 1:8 guideline, you can actually see how amplifier output impedance affects the frequency response in different places. With the HD 620S down at 150 ohms—just half the nominal impedance of the HD 600 and 650—it's great to have an answer up front as to whether the OTL amp I already have is going to turn it into a muddy mess or not. (And it's not!)

But for what call them 6 series if is essentially 5 series with bitter tunned driver....and glued pad of 560s is a crap to replace and remove all glue before applying new one....why instead not put removable headband pad like series have and applying cheap 5 series alternatives and call it 620s.....make non sense for me it will be better call it 520s instead

Harsh, but some valid points there.

Thank you for your feedback but we feel this this headphone is terrific, and its just about ready to ship (first week of June). We hope you get to try it, and if you don't like it that's fine, it's your opinion. We've already explained why the 500 series is the ideal chassis/enclosure and it's what we're rollin' with.

What sennheiser 620s have less bass then 660s2 can you confirm that ericpalonen?
I have less bass is really not worth it...we need more bass than 660s2 min 5db more

Will the shipping also include batches being sent to Addicted to Audio in Australia? (That's where I buy most of my things from). Will the pads also be available to purchase through that retailer, or solely through the Sennheiser stores?

Wonder how these will sound compared to something like the Radiance. Especially interested to hear the imaging and soundstage on this!

I own a Sennheiser Game One since 2016 which has also a HD5xx chassis, changed the earpads once and have zero issues with the headband cushion. And if I need to change it, I can do that with little effort. I do not sesne a problem here.
On the bass my understanding is that the HD620s has more bass than the HD660S2.
I am very tempted to pre order the HD620s.
