I traded my m-100s. Build quality is okay, but it'll never beat iems

The xl pads are good and to me an upgrade. I wish v-moda would go further and make them even softer (like that on the denon's). They are still a little too hard. Maybe use memory foam? idk. I would gladly pay more for an even more comfortable and softer earpad.

For the price it better be. Luckily have my HD650 for long period listenings but for moods when to crank the bass up haven´t find better party phones.

Unbelievable, just got these to Finland - 5 days!! Maybe I'm ordering too much stuff from China and I'm used to wait for couple of months to my orders to come but hey, this is nice

edit.

Switch the pads and definately better in my head, have to admit i was hoping for better experience after change. Might be that i´ve more than used to wear the much nicer Senn HD650 which i could listen for hours at times. Have to say softer pads might have been nicer, let´s hope these soften up a bit after little bit of use.
Soundwise i like the sound, should have listened a bit more before changing cause its been a while since the last timei listened music with these with thought.

For the money 8+ improvement
For the comfort 9- improvement

I have the same problem: the problem of my ears. The sound is fantastic, but even the XL pads are too small for my ears to be fully inside.
I've just sent back the Sennheiser 380 Pro to Amazon which was amazing covering my ears, it accommodated them completely. Too bad I didn't like the sound image of that, too neutral for my bass-headedness :). I'd still dreaming about V-moda creating an XXL version just for ppl like me ;).

I just received my XL earpads. Damn they are worth it.

They fit my ears better.
Better sound isolation.
Better soundstage.
Better bass extension ... well they headphones vibrate with deep bass now. They didn't do that before.

I recommended the M-100 to a friend and got to try his and I loved them, except that I could only use them for only an hour or so. Seeing the XL pads and all the great reviews, I'm definitely investing. I have the XS currently and the passive noise canceling just doesn't do and I'd like a warmer sound. I'm stationed in North Carolina and staying in a barracks with a bunch of very loud Marines so I can't wait to get my pair and finally enjoy my music again. This thread has been very helpful

If you [Mod Edit: No.], the DT880's are perfect.

I am an alpha male so I need the M100's immense bass capabilities to threaten the inferior males in my territory. I also use the carrying case to transport my massive balls from one location to the next.

I kind of agree with the statement that the M-100 is the jack of all trades, in terms of looks and build quality nothing beats it. You'd just need a good amp like any headphone, but if somehow the M-100 met a Beyer it'd blow my socks off.
V-MODA are a pretty large company but still give the vibe of being family-run, kudos to them for that. The XS was a really good headphone for me, just that I moved to full size studio headphones it lost purpose for me. The best headphone is the one you like the most, and it doesn't have to be the HD800 lol. First time I tried the 800 I thought it was terrible, but first time I tried the M100 I was moved.
