It is interesting for sure. And UM seems to have confirmed it is different on the Mason than the MEST which I picked up on quite quickly.

The burn-in process is at hand, so I will speak more on the sound then, but out of the box I’m hearing a complex sound with a very different tonal structure than the Mest MKII. I do like what I’m hearing so far …

Fit is not an issue for me, thankfully. I received #4, a good number for me.

I want to echo Bobby’s comment here. Seems that the BA drivers are delivering a slight U shape of sound, and then BCD is filling up the extra details and info in the mid. Very unique kind of feeling.

It is not dry, but it is also not colored...

Edit: I think the funny part is, it is not a mid-centric IEM based on its FR, but its strength is its vocals because of the BCD.

The staging as others have reported is very headphone like, but also different in the sense of perspective: instead of feeling like I’m sitting in the audience facing the performers, I feel like I’m on stage with them facing the audience. It’s really a weird sensation, but in a good way. Someone used the term spherical in describing the stage and images within, and I understand now why that term was used. The ability to place images behind one’s head is spooky at times and better than the Mest MKII, in my view.

This is a very low distortion set and I have to be careful and not turn the volume up too much because the sound is so effortless, so grain free, buttery even, you want to listen at a louder level.
