Nope, the one on Musicteck is the original/regular MEST. The JP version is only available in Japan.

Linsoul is not our authorized dealer. We didn't give them any permission to sell our products. Musicteck is the only authorized UM dealer in North America. Purchasing from the authorized dealers is the only way to ensure you get the full service. We will soon have an official announcement about that.

In terms of the sockets, yes it has a Maestro V2/qdc shape, but the polarity and size are the same with the standard 0.78 2 pins.

I initially preferred the more sculpted shell of the JP version, but it does look larger, I'm guessing due to the recessed socket.

yes, I thought that would be a big plus as I have number of 2pin cables. Unfortunately, the socket is very tight on my unit. Not sure if it’s the case with others.

It probably is due to recessed socket. The nozzle is about the same length from the inner plane. But the shell stands about 1-2mm thicker when laid on faceplate. If you are the type to sleep with IEMs, universal MEST is the way to go.

So, I realize this may be a odd/naive question, but I'll ask - would someone with a beard get a different/worse experience with respect to the bone conduction driver?

The bone conduction driver works via contact with your membranes/inner ear so a beard shouldn’t affect it in any way. Unless you have insane amounts of ear hair, I don’t think it’s something to worry about...

I had to return the 2.5mm stock balanced cable and I don't have a spare 2 pin backup cable. I have to wait until the cable gets back to NJ before they will send out a replacement so I won't be able to listen to them for a while. My initial impressions with an Astell&Kern DAP are very very good. Does anyone know of a reasonably priced 2 pin cable that will fit onto the International MEST and can be shipped out quickly. I'll keep it as a backup after I get the stock cable back. Thanks.

I'm having impressions done next week, Tuesday (through the local JH Audio's preferred audiologist, so should be top-notch), and then ordering the custom MEST's from Music Tech. Anyone who's done the same here, who can give me an idea of turn-around time, from scans delivered to product received?
