This sounds like a sound card issue, not a headphone issue. Check your settings. Perhaps you have some 3d setting enabled or something.

Ok i played around with my soundcard settings ( asus xonar stx) And putting volume in left ear only and not right ear it plays through both ears with bass. what the hell? Anyone explain this

I had this sort of thing when the cable wasn't screwed in properly.
Make sure you screw it in all the way til it stops; try the other cable too - maybe one is faulty

I just got a pair of Ultrasone Pro 900.  I've been reading a couple of threads, and apparently you are supposed to be able to screw till it doesnt go anymore and even hear a click signalizing it's all in. I haven't been able to do that, maybe im just clumsy? At some point the sound disappears in this screwing process - and I have to screw it a bit back out and the sound is back

However the headphones still sounds pretty good to me. At least on EDM music in good quality, they sound pretty great. But I've never really had nice headphones before, I don't know what to expect. And I see they are supposed to be good for movies though, that doesn't work for me - the sound is all muffled and voices and vocals are impossible to hear so that leaves me thinking perhaps the cable aint alright.

I keep getting the sound cutting in and out on the left earcup.
 
I think the connector isn't screwing in correctly.
 
I tried halfway as well as fully tight and its the same.

Check at the other end.  Recently I had problems with the jack connection which caused the sound on one side to go in and out.  I thought it was my ES10 but then it happened on my Pro 900 too.  That's when I realized that it wasn't a HP problem at all.  Good luck.

I have it at a point where if I screw it in all the way and don't move it's perfect. if I move around too much the left will cut in and out.
 
Also if I push in on the center on the left earcup (where the ultrasone logo is) it makes the left channel cut out.

I bought a pair of T70s a couple months ago but they just haven't been floating my boat. Not the sound signature I was after; bass quality yes but not quantity at all...
I also find the Pro900s more comfy and a better clamp and fit to my head.
The 2nd hand pair I got just had stock pads but also Denon d2000 pads modded; I'm trying them out now and liking the sound though not sure how much it has changed things. I'll need to do some A/Bing. The stock velour pads were very comfy IMO - more comfy than the stock velours that come with T70..
 
I think I'll sell the T70s now; though they are more detailed/analytical and amazing for acoustic/rock/jazz so might be a good complimentary set... but think I might go D5000's instead; the t70 lack of bass just irks me too much and even with Beyer gel pads I don't get a very good fit, making the top headband hurt my skull. No such issues with Pro900 so far.
 
Can't wait til my M-Stage arrives next week now to see how (if even possible) it can improve these Pro900s

I was hoping you would share your thoughts after A/Bing the Pro 900s. I'm torn between repurchasing the HFI 780 or the Pro 900 for gaming and rap/rock/Metal/Hip-hop.
 
What's the sound leakage like on the Pro 900s? How about the vocals? I love the in your face vocals of my DT1350 and the previous HFI-780. What's the vocals like on the Pro 900s?
 
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

There isn't much sound leakage; but they don't isolate as well as some cans (I DJ in noisy environments sometimes; will be tomorrow night so I might test them out), but I've used them on public transport without much problem - just enough iso.
 
In regards to the pads; the pleather Denon pads are comfy short-term but hurt my ears after a while. For this reason I'm glad I didn't get d5000s! My ears are rather large; the Pro900 velour pads are just right though. Bass was a tiny bit clearer perhaps with the Denon pads but not by much. Still AMAZING bass with stock pads, and this comparing was before my Matrix M-Stage arrived last night.
Bass and soundstage just went to another level!
 
Awesome cans for gaming for closed headphones IMO!!
If BF3 actually had good positional audio (it sucks compared to other fps in that regard) I'd have aural wall-hacks

The sound leakage is one concern of mine; I tend to hear different things from people when it comes to the Pro 900s. My girlfriend has dog like hearing so I really hope the Pro 900 does not bother her. I have the Beyer DT1350 and they are the best I have ever tried in terms of isolation, it's perfect with no leakage at all.
 
Lastly, any comments on the "recessed" vocals which people talk about? I love Beyers vocals and seeing you had the T70, how would you compare the vocals to one another?

Hey mate. I can assure you that the PRO900's leak like hell! For you the isolation from the outside is not really important since the music sound will mask outside noises completely. My GF always used to say that I would rather turn on the speakers when she goes to sleep than I listen to my headphones. That is before I got the XB700 pads on 

 these work like a charm with loads stuff: the bass gets mind-blowing, the isolation improves a lot and the leakage is minimised and the comfort is of that a lot headphones need to aim at. The J$ or Angle Pads are good options to consider getting with the PRO900

Is there a definitive opinion on the contrast between the pro 750's and 900's? Everyone's opinion seems to vary, most likely due to users wearing them differently which can significantly impact sq. At the moment, I've had the 750's for about a week and want to know if it'd be worth returning these and dropping the extra $100 on the 900's

You've really thrown a spanner in to the works lol! I think I may just stick with the HFI-780 and repurchase it, unless I can demo the Pro 900s.

So I´m interested in those Ultrasones for quite a time now , but I´m still unsure if its the right choice for me. I mainly listen to rock/punkrock(Rise Against,AC/DC for example) (sometimes also other kinds of music but never classical music or jazz) and I would use them for gaming. Right now I  have an AKG K271 on my head, which has great vocal sound but lacks bass in many songs-it just sounds a bit "empty" Also my head is pretty small, so they should have some pressure to not slide down ^^
Actually I wanted to buy a Denon D5k but it´s like 700€ here in Germany. The Ultrasone costs around 350.
 
Would the Pro 900 be the right headphone for my music? I´m a bit scared of the highs
And how big is it? Is it like my AKG (huge, completely unportable) or more like a Beats?

You should be scared of the highs and upper mids. They render a lot of vocals very harsh and hard to enjoy.
Also, it is huge but does fold somewhat and comes with a hard case that makes them a little more portable.
