Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

I own the AD700 and Pro900 and I think the Pro900 is great for gaming when combined with Dolby Headphone on 8 channels. The big bass can be a distraction for very competitive games like CSS (which is why I have the AD700s) but the directional sound is spot on in my experience. I used to use them for L4D2 and could easily tell where all the inf were coming from.

i don't game with headphones, but if i did, i wouldn't use any of the headphones i have including pro 900s.  I would pick up a pair of ad700s if i wanted a gaming headset, or some turtle beach or something geared towards it.  just me.

How can pro900 combined with this? Do you mean an amphi/dac?

Well I'm not sure how it works on other devices, but using the Essence STX you can use Dolby Headphone to create 7.1 surround virtualization then go straight to your headphones or output it to a DAC using SPDIF.

Well, remember this is "audiophile" bass. Not the typical bloated $50 bass. But HD25 should be nowhere near the Pro 900's bass. What do you drive them with? Did you insert the cable properly? You need to push it while you screw it in completely. And make sure the pads are not loose. These are most common issues with Pro 900.

Got the headphones tonight and have been using them for about 10 minutes.
Where is this explosive bass? It feels like the HD25s have more bass than them

What are you using to drive them? Amp?

On the car ride back from B&H, I was listening to them from my iPhone w/o a good EQ app and w/o an amp and was like

I'm now using a Rockbox Clip+ with an amp and the bass is EXPLOSIVE even if it's not on the highest settings. I'm afraid that I will damage my ear drums.
My ZO2 arrived today, but I'm not home. I'm scared to use them
